Does anyone know if Avaya has plans to continue with the CMS platform or is there a replacement reporting system in the works? I know IQ was supposed to be the new product 8 or 10 years ago but never caught on and died a quick death.

Unfortunately that doesn't hold true anymore. I hate when logical planning is ruined by the real world.

$ rpm -q cms
cms-R18.0.1.0-ka.p.x86_64
cm is only at 7.1

I have heard that there will be an R19. I do not have dates.

Is this because they are now being ported to Linux platforms and virtual platforms from Sun/Solaris Platforms?

Nothing runs parallel anymore. Software compatibility must be checked down to the 5th decimal place.

Several years ago Avaya said there wouldn't be a CMS14 let alone getting all the way to 18. With Oceana and Oceanalytics Avaya seems to be emulating Interactive Intelligence/Aspect/Genesys. What that means to the future of CMS? Who knows. The Elite/CMS combination has been the backbone of Avaya since the last century but Avaya never really integrated other channel feeds into CMS instead going through IC/OA, EMC, CIE, etc.

What is "logical planning"? And isn't the "real world" using vintage releases and not the recommended latest and greatest?

Which one of you guys is Smelko?
