Will not restart.

Started to reinstall windows xp on my Dell 8200 and the computer automatically shut down and will not restart, it has power to it and the power button light is blinking.Any ideas guys?

could you give a little more detail, are you saying that when it shutdown you attempted to restart and pressing the power button merely produces a blinking orange light ?

do you get any beeps when attempting to start ?

Try holding the power button down for about ten seconds or until the light goes out, then let it up and restart. If this doesn't work, unplug the unit for a minute or so and then plug it back in, try again.

I have a friend with asimilar problem and we found out that he have the stand by function on the power button, try that, it seems that you're on standby function.
