IS THE:
POWERCOLOR R96-C3G Radeon 9600PRO 128MB 128-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Retail

COMPATIBLE WITH:
IM845GL Motherboard

i dont know very much right now im just trying to get a video card to work w/ my computer and also be able to support Battlefield 2 :/

Help?!?!

Your motherboard has a recent chipset and an AGP slot for video. Your R9600 should therefor not be a problem.

On the other hand, as far as BF2 is concerned, I hope you have a very good CPU on your motherboard. I have an AMD XP 3000+ (clocked at 2.33 Ghz) and I can tell you that 64 bots is too much for it. I'm running 40 bots now, and that can still get choppy when things are too hectic.

Pascal.

Radeon 9600Pro (8X AGP) will work just fine on an Intel 845G chipset motherboard 4X AGP.
As long as you have a seperate AGP slot available.

Well judging by that motherboard unless you intend to play battlefield 2 on low settings with 16 players max it really just wont cut the mustard.
my fiance has a 3200+ (@2.4ghz) 1.5gb of ram, radeon 9800xt and the game takes ages to load and when it does more than 32 player games start to kill it stone dead on small maps using medium detail 1024x768 res.

The card will work.
Also, from what i have read, powercolor is pretty good name.
But i am not into heavy gaming so i cant add any more than that.

would a battlefield 2 work on my computer if i had a athlon 64bit 3400+ 512mb and 256mb nvidia geforce fx 5500 please help

Will work fine - in low resolution.
To get good graphics, you'll need a Series 6 card, at least a 6600GT
Of course, for great graphics, you know you have to buy the best.
And for BF2 I'd also advocate buying another 512MB of RAM. You really do need 1GB to play BF2. Trust me, I've tried on a 512MB system and it was horribly choppy. Slapped in another DIMM and it went silky smooth.

But an FX5500 will allow you to play.

Pascal.

thanks for the advice i just got 512mb ram off ebay for only 10 pounds

:D i have same motherboard as the guy who started this thread, i was just wondering that i was looking to upgrade my processor from a Intel Celeron to something btr to handle a Radeon 9200. What processor shud i get that the motherboard supports? :) thx

oooo forget that :p i was just looking at another forum and they suggested to some1 else with same problem that he shud get more RAM, which is what im gonna do :D i dont no how to put RAM in my comp tho, i have a IM845GL motherboard. can i put ram onto this, and if so whats the slot called where i can put it in? :D

Refer to the manual that comes with your motherboard/computer. If you don't have it, contact the manufacturer and download one. It will tell you what to do.

right, i read up on how to do it, and i ordered 512MB more of ram. but will that work on my celeron processor? :D plz reply soon if u can, just to no whether or not to cancel my order. Its for a emachine 210 and 2.3 GHZ celeron, cheers :)

It will work if you ordered the correct ram. It will work on a celeron or standard intel or amd cpu all the same.

You said "Its for a emachine 210 and 2.3 GHZ celeron, cheers :)"
I think you are thinking your pc has 210 mb of ram. It actually has 256 mb of ram if you are showing 210, the rest is eaten up by your onboard video.
You can go ahead and get more ram, its easy to install, as long as you get the correct type. As stated by someone else, your manual should tell you what type.
