Will Lotus upgrade Smartsuite 9.8x?

I doubt that IBM will update 1-2-3 or smartsuite. Maybe IBM will sell off the smartsheet division to someone who really cares.
I fully expect IBM/Lotus to continue to release SmartSuite updates about once a year. What most people do not realize is that SmartSuite is very profitable, and very popular in Europe. And popular as an alternative to MS Office with large IBM customers.
IBM has a policy of announcing "end of life" for products with a lead time of 2 years to give their customers time to play what to do next. They have not done this with SmartSuite.
The only statement that they have made is that there are no plans to develop a specific Vista-compatible version. This is because the 9.8 release works fine withe Vista.
