Hi,

Is there a chance using wildcards in a text box promt?

for example:
I have a 5-digit ID number and if I want a selection of all
numbers including, let's say a 123. I wanna use something like 123% for all values beginning with 123 or %123 for all values ending with 123 or %12% for all values with a 12 inside.

thanks in advanc!

Namh

why don't you replace your filter ??

Number = ?PromptAnswer?
by
Number contains ?PromptAnswer?

thanks Draoued for the answer.

I use contains at the moment, but with this operator, I have only the %12% feature, so I got all data with a 12 in any combination.

what I'm looking for is something, where I can decide, if the number begins, ends or contains the number.

thanks,

Namh

You can make a new drop down list that has 3 static values,
?Parameter1?
STARTS WITH
ENDS WITH
CONTAINS

Create your filter using these values

(?SearchType?='Ends With' AND [DataItem] LIKE '%'||?Parameter1?)
OR
(?SearchType?='Contains' AND [DataItem] LIKE '%'||?Parameter1?||'%')
OR
(?SearchType?='Starts With' AND [DataItem] LIKE ?Parameter1?||'%')

Thanks, that could be a solution. ; )
