I'm trying to get my flash site on the web. Everything was fine until I updated some text. Now the screen appears blank, the right click function implies the flash file is there but the screen is clear. I'm using flash MX and publishing in flash 6. Anyone know what the problem would be?

That usually happens when the file name or path has changed, did you make sure to re-publish the .fla file and upload the new .swf file, did any of the .fla or .swf file names change. That is the most likely case. Right click and check to see that the movie is loaded if some of the menu options are ghosted out that usually means the .swf file cannot be found.
