Hi, I just bought a 3D Blaster RIVA TNT2 Video card for my PC(runs on Windows 98) and when I take out my old Mpact video card from the AGP slot and insert the new one I get no response, now of course I turn on my PC but I get the No Signal Output message on my monitor(like when you turn it on with the hard drive off). I have the video card connected to the monitor correctly and I still get this message. My old video card came with the PC and has been in the AGP slot for about 3-4 years, I have a pentium 2, 266 mhz. One more thing, I bought the video card OEM from which I found through is it unsafe or risky to buy hardware OEM from sites referred by pricewatch.com? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps it's not compatible with your motherboard, for instance voodoo3 and 5 are not compatible with the P4 motherboards. the cards are 3.3 volts and the motherboards only support the 1.5 volts. (hehe, those idiots.)

Or perhaps it was damaged in shipment. Investigate your motherboard specs to see if it supports that video card.

Sometimes you bios resets. When this happends you have to use and ISA card to get video. After getting video you can change the setup in BIOS to use an AGP card again.

Hope this helps.

Does the card required agp *2 or agp *4 (AGP v.2)? I dont think these are different sizes so that may be it. Also, it may seem like a stupid thing to say, but is it slotted into the slot fully?

Try pushing harder ;) .....blah blah.... best of my knowledge, etc. "always in the quest for knowledge, and glad i could help"
If im wrong, its not my fault!

Also, maybe put old one back in and go into safe mode and remove drivers for video card.. it may be confused.. then change video driver in Control Panel to standard VGA (not super vga)... then once out of safe mode (don't reboot). Turn pc off and install new card. Then when Windows boots, hopefully it'll say found new hardware and look for the drivers for it.

sounds like a duff card. have you tried it in another PC ? If in doubt get the Ball Pein Hammer out
