Here's what I have in the box:

Abit KT7A (NO Raid) (Retail)
AMD Athlon 1200MHz 266FSB (Retail)
128 Micron PC 133SDRAM
IBM Deskstar 20.5GB
Voodoo 3 - 16MB PCI (no i don't play games)
Sound Blaster 16 PCI
Inwin Mid Tower w/300 Watt PS
Windows 98SE

I have been unable to get my machine to run above 1050MHz and I have had it for a few months. Its a totally stable machine that never crashes, but if i try to set it above 1050MHz in the bios, it will freeze as soon as it is through the boot cycle and gets to the desktop.
If I set it to 1250MHz in the bios and reboot, it wont even let me into the bios again. It just freezes during POST and I have to remove the CMOS battery and then reboot to get back in. If you need any other info just let me know. Thanks

call the company you bought it from. You will either need to change some jumper settings on the mobo, or in the bios, depending....

Just call the company, and talk to them.

hope this helps

First, is the motherboard capable of running 266MHZ FSB? If not that could be your problem.

Second there are usually jumpers on the motherboard that need to be set to 100MHZ if it is a 200MHZ FSB or 133MHZ if it is 266MHZ FSB. There should be jumpers for automatic CPU detection too.

Your motherboard manual should tell you what the capabilities are. It will also tell you if there are any settings in the BIOS that could help.

Updated motherboard drivers might help too. You can download those from the ABIT site, along with any issues there might be with your particular motherboard.

I hope this helps. If not maybe someone else can. ggebhart@clover.net
I hope I never get too old or arrogant to learn something new!

Hey! I know my Abit KT7 won't support a 266fsb T/bird and I think the only differance between yours and mine is yours supports ATA100 hard drives?
I have a 1.2 Also, but mine is a 200fsb and all is running fine. Go to the Abit site and check if the board supports a DDR chip!!! I don't think it does. Martin

The KT7 only supports 2x100FSB.........
