Running Win 2k

When I try to load cmd.com or command.com I get this error!

Title: 16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem

C:\WINNT\system32\cmd.com
C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT . The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.

Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

with the choice of 'Close' or 'Ignore' buttons

either button closes the cmd window... it won't ignore it!

Any Idea's......

I'll also add in case you know... but posting in XP forum as well...

On XP machine...
When I load cmd.com it defaults to C:\Documents and Settings\username

When I use CD D:\test
It moves their, then come write back to the default folder...

also tried CHDIR D:\test

but it failed to keep in the dir as well!

Why isn't it staying there????

Thanks
