Hi,

I'm working on HiPath 4000 V4 and when I change the device combination from optipoint advance to optipoint standard, save and check again it goes back to advance.
How can I fix that issue?

Thank you!

The device combination is created from a number of hardware options on the phone itself. Phone type, headset, add on keys. the Assistant takes the DB from the 4K and enters this information in the Assitant DB. If you change the device combination but change nothing on the hardware itself, and you leave the same phone on the same PEN with the same configuration, then the next time the 4K makes an upload to Assistant - the device combination will be overwritten. You can't change a phone from an Advance model to a Standard model by changing device combination, you need to change the phone.

Moriendi , you mean plug a standard phone?
I know but I haven't plugged any yet, I'm just changing the device and the layout but after a day let's say it goes back to be advance before plugging the phone.

So plug the phone in and let it read what's on the port.

Odd. I've never had a problem with that. I set my phones up in the switch and then take them out in the field and deploy them and I've never had an issue. I have phones in my system that say they should have a sidecar and don't, and I have occasionally added a sidecar and forgot to change the device type and wondered why it wouldn't let me program it! I know when our system was first generated it did stupid things like make up its own Device Combinations if it found phones that didn't fit any of the ones that were already there, and then I had to go back later and clean that up. I've never had one change from what I set it to.

I would suggest after you make a number of changes in a day to do EXE-UPDAT:BP,All; twice, and EXE-UPDAT:A1,ALL; twice to be sure your changes are saved. That normally happens at 2AM anyway, but it never hurts after you make a bunch of changes.
