Why the report layout is locked?

Hi expert,

I'm new to Oracle report. I think that I did something wrong. Now when I can't move the fields on the Report layout model screen any more. When I click on the boilerplate, the item can be highlighted. But when I click on the fields, the fields portion just like disabled.

I have tried to click on the Lock icon but no luck. Do you know what I did wrong?

Did you try to move/resize enclosing frame(s) if any?

In the layout editor of your Reports software, on the top toolbar, you should see a padlock. Click to have it change to the open position. That should allow you to move objects. Take care to keep objects within their enclosing objects when you do this.

Thanks for your reply.

I found out now.

1. Sometimes the layout editor is locked without a reason. But when I minimize and maximize the form few times, the lock is released automatically.

2. Technically, I need to move backward or forward (from the menubar) the object to get the focus back.
