Why so many code windows open?

I am working in Access 2007. Some setting has been set recently where every time I click Build Event on a form object or open a module, Access "helps" me by opening many, many, many code windows. It is not every code window possible but about 40 of them from random forms across my application. Anybody know what the problem is or where this setting is?
Thanks!

My installation of Access 2003 always does this but I only see the one I want to work on because the window is maximised so it is not a problem. The other code windows are hidden beneath.

I too find this very frustrating but am yet to find a way of keeping them closed when unwanted....

Access 97 was great - 1 module 1 window!

I echo your request for a way to resolve this.

Every module window that you have opened previously but not closed will be displayed. I don't think there is a "Close All". I typically select Window->Cascade and the close them one by one by clicking the [X] at the right of the title bars. It takes about 5 seconds.
