Why is VB better than the other languages?

Some folks tell me that C++ and Java are the 'real' languages.VB is the arcade equivalent.What do you guy think?
 
I guess it really depends on the impact of the .NET framework on developers( and end-users) Also, the application for each language (and/or tool) varies depending on what the goals are.
 
Its a horses for courses arguement. Each language has a specific strength for which you develop for. C++ is a very powerfull low-level language that is used for OS/Network/Device Driver programming and for windows applications. Visual Basic is good for RAD development and powerfull windows applications. Java is very good for platform independant devlopment which no other language currently supports to the same degree. I would say that no language is 'hands-down' better than any other. You just choose the best tool for the job.

I'll say in simple terms compared to the response above.

Comparing say VB to C++ is like comparing a hammer to a screwdriver.

A Hammer can really put in a nail, but a screwdriver wouldnt do the job as well, and vice versa.
