Hi, I have a PIII 500/320mb RAM/Intel SE440BX2 mobo/Win XP Home computer which over the last few days has persistently frozen. It seems to happen randomly, browsing in IE, screensaver, logging on and when trying to get into the BIOS setup.

Can anyone suggest what may be the cause? Or any diagnostic utility I can run to find out? I can't seem to recreate the problem, it's quite intermittent.

Hi,
Firstly u may be in the wrong forum as this is for windows based handhelds, u've a better chance of getting help in either the XP forum or the general hardware forum.
Anyway, This is most likely caused by a bad memory chip.
Download memtest(do a search in google) and test it, other wise remove and replace it with some working emeory.
If the mem passes next could be processor or board, let me know how u get on.
