In windows explorer my C:\ drive showing as Removable Disc(C:. Any ideas why? How can I change it becomes it prevents my virus scanner working and nothing goes to the recycle bin.

Thanks

Hi,

This could occur if the hard drive is configured as a removable drive. This setting actually occurs for removable hard drives, external zip drives and stuff. It is not advised to have your hard drive as removable.

To resolve this issue, please do the following:

1. Right click My Computer.
2. Choose Properties.
3. Go to Device Manager.
4. Double click on Hard drive.
5. In Properties, uncheck the option for Removable Drive.

If for some reason that doesn't fix it, boot to safe mode, go to device manager, remove all entries of hard disks. Reboot, Windows will reinstall them.
