strange thing... after SMS in configured, and after a reboot or 2, in Windows 2k, it starts the new hardware wizard, and looks for drivers for the different SMS services.

any thoughts? any suggestions on how to stop or fix it? Shane

You'll need to provide a more thorough description. What does "looks for drivers for the different SMS services" mean? How do you know it's doing this?

ok... when SMS is installed, a system reboot. Occasionally, after login the Add Hardware Wizard opens. It is detecting the SMS Hardware Inventory Agent, and attempting to locate the drivers... which don't exist.

So far, the only fix for this we have found is Re-Image. this is not a reasonable option, as the users suffer lost time and productivity, and our bosses get angry (and all of us in IT know not to make the bosses angry)... Shane

What you describe is odd and should not occur. I have no answer or even hints for you. Sorry.

No problem... thanks for the responses, though... Shane
