Why does "0" show up when linking a blank cell?

My problem is that when I link a table with some cells blank, the destination table shows "0" in all of the blank cells.

I tested this with a simpler scenario... I typed the formula in Cell B1: =A1 and I got the same result. How can I link so that a blank cell remains blank, but a cell with value will link to the destination document?

Yes this is a bind at times.

You can get round it by doing for example:

=if(a1="","",a1)

Alternatively you can go to tools-options-view and unclick the show zero values if you don't miond zero values being hidden for the whole sheet.

Alternatively you can use format-conditional formatting to make the colour of the text the same as the colour of the cell if it contains a zero.

The latter two would still result in their being a value of zero in the cell though, even though you can't see it.

Thanks!! The formula works however those were great alternative solutions!!
