MICS XC4.1 I set up automatic night ring service, On at 20:00 and off at 8:30AM M.Tu,W,Th. Fri 20:00 to 10:00AM, Sat 17:00 to 10:00AM and Sun 17:00 to 8:30AM.
The display shows services ON and all proper phones ring. (Ring Group 001)
When 8:30Am System shows Normal Ring Service- time display normal-but all the phones in Ring Group 001 continue to ring!
Reboot system- Ring now normal to receptionist only.
Force time to night(All ring)force to day(all ring).Whats wrong?

By default, everything is in ring group 1 (all lines, all sets). I always abandon ring group 1 and start with group 2. Try building all the sets you want in group 2 and see what happens. I don't know of any s/w bugs about that, but it is possible. Get away from group 1 first.

I set up ring group 003, added 3 stations and tested by advancing the time to 7:59PM, Night turned on & worked properly. Set time to 8:29AM, rollover to 8:30 showed "Normal Mode" but the phones kept ringing. I could turn off extra ringing phones by using the Night key at the main phone. Turn on night then turn off night, only the day phone ringing.
I noticed when programming the ring group, up to 8 phones started a update after closing out of the program. None of these stations were in the ring group or were edited. Could this be corruption?
The Manual night key works properly using ring group 001.

Update often shows more sets than those that were changed. If you change cfna on one set, and exit, you'll often see 5 dn's updating. I can't tell you why, but this is true on properly functioning systems, so I wouldn't assume that that is an indicator of trouble.

Just tell everybody to ignore the update. When those people listed under update get off the phone, update will go away. Asked a first level engineer from Nortel about it and why it listed the phones it listed, he said, I don't know, ignore it..lol So should you.

Kinda like a base station and re-eval...
It does a check on all of them....if it has no info to give to that set it moves to the next one.

So the main problem still is the fact that the ring service goes normal at 8:30 AM but the ring group phones continue to ring unless you fudge with the night button.
