Why does an IP Expansion Cabinet go into survival mode? 2

I have an IP Expansion cabinet that used to go into survival mode but not any more. By survival mode I take it it was going into a standalone mode since its an expansion cab and it can not establish the link to the main cab so what is holding it up from going into standalone mode?

Does it have an SSC card? if not it wil never go into Standalone mode.

It does have an ssc card.
And we can not seem to be able to login into it.

i thought all IP exp cabinets have SSCs

to answer ur question - whenever the link between the exp and main cabinet goes down (for whatever reason)- the exp cab starts working as a standalone system
