Why do calendar items disappear in exchange 2000?

Hi,

We have the following problem. We have migrated from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange2k about a month ago. Since we were not sure we made PST-files from every mailbox from the exchange 5.5 and imported them in the exchange 2k.
All items were imported successfully!:) 2 weeks ago there was a power down during the weekend and our UPS failed to take over so the servers went down without proper shutdown. When I returned on Monday and restarted all the necessary services lots of items in the calendar were gone, as well in
Outlook as in OWA.
At some point they came back into the calendar but I don't know how that happened.
Now, 2 weeks later, the items have disappeared again. It's even weirder now. In outlook none of the items shows, but in OWA older items do show, but not all off them.

I don't know if the migration has anything to do with this but I just thought I would mention it. Here's some extra info if needed, because I'm really lost on this one.

Our Exchange runs on a Win2k, with SP3 and all necessary patches, which is our BDC. I have the exchange running on SP2.

All tips or solutions are appreciated!!

Bart.

I just found something. It might help you guys but I haven't gotten any futher. All of the items that are missing were put there by another exchange user how has permissions to add/change appointments or meeting in that calendar. All of the appointments created by the owner are still in the calendar.
Also when you trie to create a new appointment on the same time and date were one off the disappeared items were, it says "Conflicts with another appointment on your Calendar" so it still must by there but I can't see it in Outlook or OWA.
When I look on the mapped exchange-drive M: there are EML-files there but I can't use them to see when the appointments take place

Check your virus software. Exchange does not like to be scanned. Had this problem with Norton Corporate Edition Anti-Virus. Also, Backups can be a problem, only certain parts of Exchange should be backed up, Take a look at an Outlook calendar in a Category View, If you see appoinments with no start or finish time, virus scanning is probably the source of your problem.

Thx, but the problem got worse yesterday. The server crashed!! I probably have to reinstall everything. Could be a BIG problem because our exchange was also BDC. But I'll keep it in mind!!
