Why did they break the use of 96xx

I use 4.1 (15) with 9630 phones (1.1) why do the block these phone,s in 4.2

17xx looks so cheap compared with 96xx, also tried with 3th party h323 licence no luck.

Somebody got some tricks to get 96xx with 4.2 need for some licence no problem....

They block them so you have to use 17xx phones, simple as that, give it 6-12 months and I guarentee you there will be a very highly priced licence to make them work.

I got an email today. no 17xx phones. They are only using the 16xx on IPO. not sure why but they will be supported in november.

If you use the firmware 1.1 on the 96xx it will work...
and 4.0 0r 4.1 on the IPO (1.2 or 1.5 or 2.0 wil not work)

But with 4.2 they are blockerd and also the 16xx are blocked??

The 1600 will be the next release
There are not making the 1700 series !!!

We tried a 4690 lately and that is also shown as a 9600 in monitor

I do not understand why they do it really
There are plenty of customers who want them !


Maybe we should all do a feature request ?

Everyone will want them, thay lok similiar but you don't have to mess on with naff looking paper labels. That's why I see a highly priced licence on the horizon.

Does anybody have a firm Avaya statement regarding the 1600? Spoke to Avaya today here in Holland and they say that they have no news regarding the availability of the 1700 series, other than it will be in november...

i also noticed if you upgrade a 96xx to 2.0 it will no longer talk to the IPO, so they are blocking it from both sides.

16xx will not work on 4.2 tested it and it say,s incompatible!!

I have a doc from avaya and it says 17xx canceled. I can send it to anyone who puts up an email address. Says 16xx will work on next maint release of 4.2 I have a 1616 on order so we will see when it gets here.

This because there where making a 17xx but they changed back to the 16xx some some reason
