I paste some java applet into x.asp files, and could NOT see any applet
executing when I view x.asp under Personal Web Server.
and more surprsingly, after the web page of x.asp was shown on the browser, I looked at the source of the x.asp in the browser, the JAVA applet codes were
even NOT in the source after the PWS sent the x.asp to the browser. But the JAVA
Applet is still in x.asp if I use frontpage to open x.asp to edit it. So WEIRD!!!

More confusing is that if I put the JAVA applet in x.htm , I can the JAVA applet
executing!!!

COuld anybody tell me how to solve this problem, I 'll really appreciate that!
THanks!

Are you referencing the Java Class file on the web server correctly? I have put some Java Applets on my site, asp files, with class files on the same and different web server. They all work fine. I don't think it has anything to do with asp file as Java is supposed to work on all platform and servers as long as you have a Java enabled browsers.

Thank you for your reply.
I do put the java applet code in the same directory as the
asp files and the reference to apllet files is correct.

I dont understand when I paste the java applet reference
into an .htm file and save this .htm file in the same directory
where the .asp and apllet is, the java applet start working!
this is not understandable.

Does anyone have any ides of this? Thanks!

Is the Java Applet Frame displaying (Gray)? Is there an error displaying in the status bar? IE will usually give a cannot load message if it is crashing and give the file name. What type of java program did you use (configurator or compiled with configurable parameters)?
