Why are my effects rendering black???

My effects are rendering black, Also the thumbnails in my timeline and Project bin are also black. I am running windows XP Pro with Premiere 6. I have tried reinstalling both. I have also tried to replace components of premiere. Please help. Video plays fine...it is just the effects/transitions that render black. I must have done something as it was doing this on my last project. Thanks.

Are you applying an effect to a video clip or a still? What effect are you applying?

Thank you so much for your response. It ended up being the Angel Potion Codec. I removed it, re-rendered my effects (disolves) and it worked fine. Thanks again
