Is anyone on the forums currently using the NEC MA4000 Management application? If so, what are your thoughts on this NEC tool?

we are currently using MA 4000 for remote maintenance of 13 PBX's. we aslo use it for sheduling backups with out having to make site trips. in my opinion it is a very powerful and useful tool when applied in the proper setting. There are some adjustments that need to be made to programming style since it is a GUI interface, but is very comprehensive. There is a free training course available from NEC.

I have some questions for you NEC30 -

1) Did you migrate from Aimworx? If so was the migration easy?

2) Are you using only 2400's / 8500's or do you do you have 2000IPs / 8300's as well?

@ grh59

we did not migrate from Aimworx we dont use the expense management versin of MA4000 only the SNMP FTP and remote maintenance portions

we are currently only administering 2400's and 8500's but the MA4000 will administer the IPS and 8300 along with some voicemail systems.

On a side note, the MA4000 can make a basic tech out of someone that is not familiar with NEC systems. you are able to define and manage roles of users locking them out of areas of the systems you want to keep them out of.

Talk to your sales rep - you maybe able to get a 90 day demo of the software
We upgraded 13 IPXs to r24- found the MA40OO very helpful when we added all 10 sites to an existing FCCS network. using clipboard to load ALGSN,AFRSL, ETC...
We use it eveyday for Adds and moves
We snyc pbxs eveyday- backups weekly

If you move a lot of phones make sure you get the clipboard option - youll find it very handy.
