Hello,

How can I assign a print function to a certain display icon containing text?
Printscreen is not satisfying enough...
Thanks for your help.

If you are producing CD based material, put your text in a folder, in the same directory as your Authorware.exe file. Insert it as RTF. Then in the calc icon for "print" use the Jump print return function in conjunction with the file location variable. With out looking I am not 100% sure, but something like
JumpPrintReturn(FileLocation^\\Mytextfolder\\mytext.RTF)
This may not be the exact entry, but I am shattered and on my way to bed, If you don't have any luck get back to me & I will check it out properly. It,s something that I use often.
Good Luck
Chris Many thanks

Almost correct Chris. You don't need the double slash before the folder name. FileLocation contains its own double slash at the end.

Using this procedure of course assumes that the user has an application that is associated with the file extension .RTF, although most do nowadays thanks to that kind Mr. Gates. Regards,
