Can someone suggest a good internet security suite to go along with SBS 2003? I have tried Trend Micro but that was more than year back, was wondering whats out in the market to look into.

Is it the right way to go for securing a server by getting Internet Security Suite or individual application is still preferred?

Thanks
MJ

Well, anything beyond antivirus protection for Exchange or the files system would be handled by ISA 2004 provided you are using the Win 2k3SBS Premium, and have configured ISA correctly. As far as the AV portion, Symantec AV 10.1 (Corp Edition) is a great managed application. You will also need to make sure you pick up Symantec Mail Security for MS Exchange Server to be sure the mail aspects are handled in depth.

I would personally say stick with Trend. Again just my personal feelings on this but I hate the Symantec product. I have had it stop reporting in to the server and reinstallation is a real pain if you are looking to install a newer version.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

Thanks for your inputs.

Also wanted to ask you both- will CA Internet security go well with SBS2003 Std edition? Any comments on the tech support/service in general fo CA?

Thanks
MJ

I don't have any experience with CA and SBS, but I do know that the Symantec products combined work well with Win2k3SBS Std and Premium. An update though, the Exchange component is on version 6 and is now called Symantec Information Foundation Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange.

Markdmac, sounds like you have not had experience with Symantec corp AV products since AV 9 or earlier and the Exchange component 4.5. Or sometimes people equate their home experiences with Norton System Works or Norton Internet Security thinking that the Corporate products are the same. Let me stress that they are definitely not!
Lots of things have changed.

Provided you exactly follow the instructions in the DOCS folder of their installation images, I've never had a problem with the Symantec Corp products, especially recent editions.
