Hi all. We're having trouble figuring out which table or tables are involved in producing the box security and box prefix information in the application's forms, in Livelink 9.2.

There are columns called "Prefix" and "Security" in the application's form, the form that is presented when one searches and gets a result set based on a Box Prefix. If you double-click one of the rows of boxes returned by the search, the default tab on the 'box details form' that is produced has the same fields in the lower left.

(Finally, the same unknown table(s) apparently populate the "Change Security" menu item under "Edit.")

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Livelink schema can be obtained by signing an NDA with OT.I am not familiar with this functionality/table.It appears as though you are using livelink forms and hence using a custom sql table thereby.The form designer should know in this case,or a little poking around the view source of the loaded page might also yield some clues.If you use an external table the configuration of the webforms external connections should help as well.

Hi Appnair,
Thanks for posting. I did ask Livelink to send me an NDA to sign - haven't heard back yet. This functionality is in Livelink Record Server 9.2. It's their 'form' - you open the app, do a search on Box by Box prefix, and get a screen or form of results that looks like a spreadsheet. In that Livelink app screen / form, we're not seeing Security or Prefix columns, next to the 'RSI' column. I think LL is written in C++ (?). Anyway, there's no source to view. And we're definitely not doing anything custom. No external table either. The weird part is, in our iRIMS 9051 Rec Server, things work fine, and the database looks identical to the one we use with our LL Rec Svr 9.2 setup. Yet with the former (v9.0.5.1) we see the sec and prefix columns fine; in the 9.2 version, they've gone missing. We're having quite a time getting any (meaningful)help from OT. Thanks if you happen to look at this new update to the post, and have any other ideas!! Best regards, Tom

Unfortnately I work with livelink enterprise server and its record management offerings.I am not sure it may be the same code.My knowledge of it is very limited,I am a programmer/admin not a functional person.However if you can look at the top of the app url and see if it is calling anything similar to
Code:
func=ll&lots of other stuff
or send me a screen shot of it at least I can look it up and see if I can figure out something
you can reach me at appoos at hotmail dot com.I basically need to know which module and URL it is executing.

Regarding C++ livelink's C++ is not available to us programmers,but the majority of the stuff is in its proprietary language called Oscript which is what the livelink server runs on.Not a very modern OOP thing but still very efficienet.Lacks a lot of bells and whistles.

As far as OT is concerned and if you feel they are giving you the run around,you should probably get/email their escalation manager(we did use that trick one time).Usually they are very helpful and you always get a very senior person to work with once they know it is their problem.

Good luck.
