hey i am new to linux and i was wondering which ver of linux would be good for me to start off with...

I saw that but i want to d/l the RPMs(if at all they exist) through Windows since the computer which has the faster connection is running Windows. i have a dial up on Linux =P

It is not just one or two rpms, it's about 570 of the little boogers.
 
I am just being dumb - can someone zip it up and upload it on some site?

Forget it I am happy with my bluecurve and KDE and GNOME and XFCE and best of all the linux terminal =P

this ain't the place to be askin', but why aren't you sharing the broadband connection?
 
Well the thing is the Windows computer is at my workplace while the Linux computer at my home ;)

It will only work for SuSe or RH. I have fedora and it won't install on that.
