I've searched and can't find the answer to this.
I need to install a ppd so I can export postscript files to pdf. I can't find where to place the ppd file.

OS10.3.3
InDesignCS

Thanks

Why don't you simply export PDF directly from InDesign? PS to PDF is not as pure as InDesign's own PDF export.

1. Double-click the Print Center in the Utilities subfolder of the Applications folder.
2. Click Add in the Printer List window.
3. From the top menu, choose a connection method.
4. Select a printer, or enter the printer's IP address.
5. From the bottom menu, select a printer model.
6. In the list that appears, select a PPD file, and then click Add.

Why is everyone in this forum responding to me as picklefish?

Why not export to PDF?
Our printer has requested this particular method, using the Scitex Extreme L3. I have the ExtremeL3 available in InDesign 2.02, but haven't been able to acquire it in CS.
Thanks for your help

For one of my jobs, I also write postscript to a specific ppd. I put the ppd in OSX/Library/printers/PPDs and restarted my computer to get it to show up in my list of drivers available to ID.

I put all my PPD's in /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj/ and InDesign can see it

Thanks!
Placing PPD there allowed this to show up.
