I need to be able to change the MOH wav file every month. Is there a way to do it without a reboot? I thought it would be easy to place the file with WINSCP or Embedded File Management, but it is not that simple.

On a IPO 500v2 it work when I download the file to system/primary, but it does not work on the Ipo Server.

Thanks!!!

if this really needs to be changed every month it would be more sensible to use an eternal player

Here is more information for you.

As of R9.1, you have the following alternate options of Hold Music:

WAV: To specify a wav file, enter WAV: followed by the file name. Playback resumes from where it left off the last time.

XTN: Any analog extension. Not applicable to Linux systems.

WAVRST: To specify a wav file, enter WAVRST: followed by the file name. Playback is started every time from the beginning.

WAVDIR: Multiple WAV file source. The WAV files must be stored in the /opt/ipoffice/tones/mohwavdir/ directory. Playback resumes from where it left off the last time. Not applicable to IP500 V2 systems.

WAVDIRRST: Multiple WAV file source. The WAV files must be stored in the /opt/ipoffice/tones/mohwavdir/ directory. Playback is started every time from the beginning. Not applicable to IP500 V2 systems.

USB: Supports multiple USB inputs. Enter USB:<number>. Not applicable to IP500 V2 systems.

LINE: In Server Edition networks, setting the Secondary Server and Expansion Server Alternate Source to Line allows the server to receive streamed audio from a source on the Primary Server. On the Secondary Server and Expansion Server, enter Line:x,ywhere x is the line number to the Primary Server and y is the MOH source number on the Primary Server.

So there is absolutly no way to used wav file and change it without a reboot?

Get a digital player, and a USB sound card, set the MOH to the USB. Plug the digital player into the sound card's mic input and you should be good.

I know I can use a USB sound card, but I would prefer to used the wav file!!!

I would prefer a Ferrari but that's life. We are not Avaya, we can only tell you the options, not change them. So stow the !!! and live with the choices.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

According to the documentation you can change and add an Alternate Source without reboot so you should be able to change the wav file it should play with a merge.
Although I also found a support document stating that it doesn't work in 9.1.7 and it will be implemented in future releases.

I'm thinking that it might work if you either change the alternate MOH type or if you use WAVDIR.
Considering it supports 255 files up to 10 min per file will it really load these into memory or create a temp file it uses.
