AIX only works on RS/6000 and Itanium platforms.

There is IBM Demopkg inside IBM that includes AIX and lots of software. IBM employee can order it for client, maybe you can ask IBM guy to get it for you.
if your company has lots of cash lying around, IBM will let you evaluate an rs/6000, particularly if you are using Sun or HPUX already.
a better or cheaper way might be to buy a rs6k from ebay and you just might get the OS with it. IBM Certified -- AIX 4.3 Obfuscation
