Hello all,

I needed some help, can you please help me find out where I can download Crystal Oracle ODBC Driver 4.10? I tried searching the Crystal CD but had no luck.

Thanks in advance,

Guran

Thanks for these links, here is why I need these drivers:

I've a CR created in ver 8.5 using Oracle 8i client. Now some other developer wants to convert that report to CR 9 (don't know why). She keeps complaining that something is wrong with my stored procs, but the fact is that she is using some Native Oracle driver. I've tried to explain that it is the driver problem but she is not ready to listen. So I wanted to just give her the driver update and I couldn't find any. As suggested in your second article, we need the files that relate to Crystal Oracle ODBC Driver 4.10.

Well the first link gives you that, but she's correct, you should have used the Oracle native connectivity, it's much faster.

Open the report and repoint it to the SP in the Oracle Server listed (that's the native connection), she'll be happy and you'll get better performance, and not have to install any ODBC drivers.

I understand the native connectivity is faster. I am using ref cursors in my Stored Proc and using native driver keeps complaining about something that I don't understand.

She gets an error: Query engine error: HYC00... (don't know the full error) when she uses the native drivers. I had her check "Procedure Returns Result" is checked on in the DSN, but when using Native Drivers, she doesn't get that option.

The first link you sent gives me Crystal Oracle ODBC Driver 3.6 is there a way I can get the dll's that are mentioned in your second link? Thanks!

All of those DLLs should be on your CD, if you have the developer edition. Note I asked which edition you had...

As for the error, there are specific ways that SPs need to be created for Crystal:

The other developer may have a Oracle client concern, but in either case they need the developer edition if they are embedding reports somewhere.

Did you think that posting "I am using ref cursors in my Stored Proc and using native driver keeps complaining about something that I don't understand." would allow us to help resolve this?

Post the exact error/message. People create SPs all the time using native connectivity.

I should also have mentioned that just because the DLLs work with 8.5 doesn't mean that they will in CR 9, I'd fix the native problem.
