Installed a second processor in my IBM 5500. Bios sees it, but the blue screen starting windows NT server can't find it. I find a setting in the environment section of Control Panel>System, and I can tell it I have a second processor. When I restart, however, it goes back to one. How do I get the operating system to recognize it? Thanks.

I suggest that you look at the message thread "Enabling second processor" which contains some useful information and links to web sites. The last reply to this threas was 3/3/04.

Bobby, for NT 4.0 you will need to run the uptomp.exe util found in the Windows reskit. NT 4.0 won't automatically detect a second processor unless NT was installed after the processor was added
