Where is the Directory 1

I'm trying to find the screen for changing or editing names in the directory on a definity audix system. This is the directory that is accecced thru the buttons on a digital phone. I dont know if this is the switch or vm side? Help

It is the switch side.... the name field on the extensions.

Do you mean the Station? If so i checked this and the spelling of the name is different then the one in the directory.

If you are talking about when the "DIRECTORY" button is pressed on a 64XX telephone, and the name(s) are displayed on the digital display on the telephone - this information comes from the NAME field on the station screen (PBX side).

If you are talking about the "dial by name" feature, where the individual dials the appropriate auto-attendent number in the AUDIX system and is prompted to enter the first three letters of the individuals last name - this information comes from the NAME field on the subscriber screen (VM side).

Thanks Susan, you were correct it was the switch. I noticed it depends on how you insert a name in this field. The naming convention has to be the same thru out the directory. For example if your standard is going to be lastname,firstname this should be done thru the whole directory. If you leave out a comma it changes the view in the directory.
