All,

I thought that the serving DDI (or DID) nbr range was programmed in the PBX, but I can't figure out which load it would be in. It's driving me nuts, coz I am certain I have seen this and trawling the NTPs was no help.

Unless of course I imagined it.....

Pls put me out of my misery.

Many thanks

Jimbo

you must have dreamed it jimbo, the did number range will not appear anywhere in your software, you bill would be the best place for that info.

Maybe you're thinking of the LDID prompt. You can program in your range of DID numbers so that, if someone calls one of them FROM your site, it will convert it back to an extension number and try to terminate it on a phone instead of sending it out to the PSTN and then back into your PBX. It's optional, and not needed for your incoming DIDs. But, anyway, it's in LD 90, in the NXX block (see also NPA and LOC, depending on your area and programming).

There's a bit more to it to make this work, but you get the idea. Hope it is helpful.

If you are using PRI ISDN or something similar it is important to set the prompt DNIS to yes and then set the number of digits below it to the number length internal to your switch.

If what you're trying to do is get the PBX to deliver a DID call to the proper extension of the DID, you need to go to LD15 in program in the LDN_Data area

at DLDN responde with YES
at LDN0, enter in any N digit number (preferably something you're not going to use anywhere else). N = the number of digits the carrier will be sending you.

Enter throught the rest of the prompts.

This will tell the PBX to to accept DID calls with N digits and route them to the appropriate ext. Seems crazy, but it worked for me this weekend.

Jimbo, are you thinking of the IDC table (Incoming Digit Conversion)?
Its a table of DDI numbers + the extensions they map to (if its not a straight translation)
We have it on our switches in the UK, not sure if its the same elsewhere.

Its in LD49.
