Can anyone tell me where this file is? Everything I've read says its on the Admin CD, but I am not seeing it. Why does everything have to be so complicated with IPO?
I've got a 8.1 pbx that needs SMDR out, and I have the 2 dvd set that came with it, but I am not seeing SMDR folder anywhere on either one.

There isn't any. I don't know why you think there is any but Avaya doesn't supply SMDR software.
You'll have to buy a thirth party vendor software package.
If it is only for reporting and not for cost calculations I recommend Xima Chronicall, for billing software you can do a google search, there are plenty of good software packages vailable for IP Office, I recommend OAK as it has many years of experience with IP Office, they started their software for Avaya systems exclusive and have a very mature solution these days.

So all I have to do is configure the IP address / port of the machine running the 3rd party smtp software and that's it? I thought there was some kind of Avaya program that had to put call data into a .csv first.

No there isn't, there is a free datalogger available on the net which can do that.
Send Dave your regards for his splendid work!

Ooops, not smtp , that should have been smdr. any helpful guidance would be appreciated.

Dave's datalogger is GREAT. Been using it with my demo kit since the day I got it. It's saved my butt a couple times.

I decided to go with Kiwi at the guidance of Jenne. But I guess I don't have something right. No data is being sent to the program. Anybody have simple instructions for getting call data to show up on kiwi? Not much to the pbx side, just enter the IP and port number.

Turn off any firewalls on that PC?
Never used Kiwi for smdr, just syslog.

A while since I set up Kiwi but I recall

file-setup-inputs-tcp then add the correct port

You can then

file-send test message

Let me know if this helps

Obviously port on the IPO and Kiwi need to match!

yeah I got that. Seemed easy enough. I guess I need to jump on monitor and see if I can see the pbx trying to send data to the ip.

BTW I should have mentioned that I was using IP Office 500 on 8.1 but would this work on IP Office 403 on 3.0DT?

I can only recall options to send to Deltaserver or the serial port and not IP.
