Hello,

I'm a relative newbie as far as Linux is concerned and I'm having problems getting a Java plugin to work for netscape/mozilla. From reference to people who have encountered a similar problem I believe I require the xlibs-dev package. However in all my searching I've found nothing but other people also looking for this package. I'm running RedHat 7.3, does anyone know where/how I can get the package for this?

Just in case I'm barking up the wrong tree, here's the error message I'm getting:

Failed to initialise shared library
/usr/java/j2re1.4.2_04/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so
[libgcc_s.so.1: cannot open shared object file : no such file or directory]

Thanks for any help,

Bob

Do the advanced search on the missing file, checking only the 'Redhat 7.x' checkbox. You get 26 results. Here's one of them:

There are download links for the gcc rpm on that page. Also, the gcc rpm should be on your installation media if you have the CDs, as gcc is a pretty typical package to have installed.
