Hi all,

We are doing a module where we have reports in Access. We are going to convert these reports into Impromptu reports. In Access reports a query is hard coded like the following. The guide lines are we should not hard code the same in cognos reports.
Please give me your suggesions how to do this.

we have a condition "WHERE (((Report.Cust_Name) Not In ('ZUKR','ZURE','ZURT','ZUSR','ZNKR','ZNRE','ZNRT','ZNSR','ZUKE')))"

How can we do this in a Impromptu Type in Prompt. We need to capture values from the Type in prompt and pass it, based on which we will retrive the data. There can be any combination of data, we need to filter out only the specified values.

thanks in advance

Rather then using a type in prompt could you use a Dataset in the filter? This is another Impromptu Report which would just have one column listing the cust_ids you wanted to filter out.

You would have to manually edit the Dataset report - ie create a filter to only get the cust_ids needed - but the main report would then run without any input required.
