Hello all. I have a copy of IE 5.5 SP1 on a CD. It is the entire installation program, not just the 460k setup file that you download. A guy that left before me had it on this disk and now I can't find the setup program anywhere. He also found Win2k Service Pack 2 and all sorts of stuff that is Tremendously handy when updating 50 client machines at once. Does ANYONE know where I can find these files? If so it would be worth alot to me.

I'm not sure if this is right but I think the problem is that the files could be hidden.

The downloads usually go into a temp folder that has a file that states it is safe to delete (actually something like that for a file name). Maybe search for a file like *delete*.* to find it. Just checked my drive which I installed IE6 and found a folder "Windows Update Setup Files" in the WinNT folder that contained a file "This folder is safe to delete.txt" and all the IE6 install files were there.

Why not use IE6?
If using that - Butchrecon was kind enough to post a way to save it for ALL installs..

Follow these steps to get it:
Create a folder on the C:\ drive and call it ie6
Then download the setup file and put it in the ie6 folder you created. You can download it at:

Once down loaded open up START>RUN nad type the following JUST as I have it:
"C:\ie6\ie6setup.exe" /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E"
then hit enter. Click accept on the screen. When the download options screen appears select EVERY OS. This way you have IE6 for every Windows OS. When its finished Downloading you can run it.

This is good stuff to know, guys..
