I am looking for a way to run the older 2400 MAT software on my new Windows 2000 laptop. I was told it would not run on this laptop due to a com port conflict or something to do with the file allocation tables. I was also told there was a company that has some software called MatPort that allows you to use a com port other than com 1 and thus making it where you can run the software.

Can anyone verify this or let me know what I need to do to get this to work?

Thanks,
CD

I can't seem to locate the company that produced MATPort on the web anymore, but I do have a copy that I could e-mail to you.
The other way around this would be to reboot the PC into DOS mode and use an external modem on COM 1 of the laptop & PCPlus for the dial-up. I've done this before w/ a W2K machine w/ no problems.

FYI: I have found that XP handles the old DOS applications flawlessly w/ the exception of Dos Procomm. Win2000 has port identification problems as well as DOS application problems that will drive you nuts. I installed the 2400IMS Dos program on my XP machine and it ran without any adjusting! However the procomm can't handle the CPU speed and even with "MOSLO.COM" I cannot get it going.
