I'm looking for an RJ-45 crossover cable that's 15m long. I'd like it to be of very high quality if possible - the 15m cable I have keeps dropping data (all my big files seem to have 'bad CRC' errors).

Does anybody know where I can purchase such a cable?

Thanks!

PS I live in the UK, so I'd prefer to buy it from a UK store if possible. Thanks!

You could try Black Box - just checking their catalogue they can do a custom 15m cross-over for £20.45. This is GigaBase 350 Cat5e cable (snagless to) so should be pretty high quality, haven't personally used that cable myself but other CAT5 patch cables we've bought from Black Box have been fine.

The actual cost is: £6.95 + £0.9 per metre

Their sales line is: 0870 90 10 750

I think the Black Box cable is just what I'm looking for.
My previous 15m cable was purchased for £5.50 from ebay - I thought it was too good to be true, and it was!

Thanks for the help!

Hi,

you can also use a normal 15m cat5, that is easy to find
or probably you already have, or you can wrap.

After you can add a short ( 10cm ) cross-cable with
a male + female at its boundary.

If you have already 15m normal, and have crimp-tool,
cut an edge of it, and put a new plug with cross-rules.

If you need, we can show you the corrispondence pins.
