When sending email BOLD, Italics, etc grayed out

Goldmine 4.0.9922..

Users want to use the attention getting BOLD, Italics, Underline, etc when sending email. They reply or start a new message, and when the cursor is placed in the message area they see the above options on the current message window, but the options are all grayed out.

What can we do to enable these options?

Hi

You need to switch on Rich Text Format when composing the email. There should be a tick-box in the compose email window.

Worked fine for me, but the user who needed the issue resolved is sending mail with the rich text features, etc. that is received like this: (I have checked between his settings and mine, and everything is the same except I do not use a signature)....
