Hello!

When Users run C8 Reports the sign on pops up for user to select which one. This normally happens when user types in password with upper case when it is lower case. Normally I would delete the sign on that would fix it but some how it does not now. Any one have any idea on this?

Help!!

Thanks..

Hello, are you saying that the login dialog box appears requesting for the user to re-enter their user id and password AFTER they have already logged in?

If so, then what is your authentication source? If you're using single-signon and Active Directory then perhaps the network accounts log off after a set period of time being idle or the path for your C8 is not in your trusted sites.

...or could it be a prompt for your database signon? If so, it either means your connection does not have a signon defined for everyone, or else the signon is secured and not available to all users.

Just a thought.

you are correct. it is a database signon. however I have around 5 database IDs all are okay except this one. where do I see this? I checked everyone has read, Execute only for this signon. I removed the signon and logged in again using the same ID and it created this ids signon again however it is still prompting when running a report. Where can I check to see If I want to make this signon available to all the users.

Can you help?

Thanks

Hi,

The signon is defined in Tools/Directory, on the Data Sources tab, by drilling into a data source, then into its connection. If the signon is defined already, use the 'set properties button on the right and on the permissions tab, make sure that all relevant users/groups/roles (or the 'everyone' group if appropriate) have traverse and execute privilege.

Regards,

MF.

Sorry - should have said traverse, READ and execute for the privileges. My finger just wouldn't stay off that Submit button for long enough :)
