When outside lines ring on multiple stations ...

What do I have to do to ensure that the CCR/AA picks up the call and not the individual station's voice mail greeting? Can stations with the outside lines programmed to ring have a busy forward set when they are on the phone?

On one particular line, I need to have the person's personal voice mail greeting come on and NOT the AA/CCR menu (it is his personal line). How can I set that up?

I want to be sure that I get this right as I had some problems before. I fixed them, but really don't understand what or how I did it.

Thanks much!
Michael.

If you program a set to forward on busy to v-mail, ANYTHING that rings on the set will go to that mailbox.

On the one that you want to go to the personal mailbox, make sure that the line number is not set to be answered by the AA table. Then set FWD on busy and/or FWD No answer of that set to V-mail. Just remember that ANYTHING that rings on the set will forward to that mailbox.

What happens when this line is set to ring on multiple sets? Do I only program one set (the one with the voice mail box) to forward on busy and no answer?

I guess it's kinda a DID line. It's looped into the system, but only for one person. However, the person has 4 separate extensions that this line must ring on. Where I'm confuzzled is which set to program the busy/no answer. I'm guessing it's the extension that has the mailbox on it, but I'm not sure.

Thanks much,
Michael.

What if a person dials an outside call by first pressing a line button that is free, then dialing 9 and the outside number...

If that person would receive an intercom call, would that forward on to voice mail as a "no answer" because they were on a line?

We have 3 main people who answer calls, and I want to see if there is a way that they can receive voice mail messages when they are on another phone line. That statement in quotes at the top of this tells me that this might not be possible, but surely there must be a way!! :)

Thanks everyone,
Michael.

Michael-

As long as you have open ports on the voicemail, and have the extension set to call forward no answer to voicemail (and assuming you have open lines for another call to come in on) if no one answers the particular extension, it will forward to that phones mailbox.

However, if you only have 3 lines, and all 3 lines are busy, there is no way for the 4th call to get to voicemail because it can't get into the system...(all incoming lines are busy).

Hope this makes sense-

Chris
