Haven't seen anyone ask this already and since I just got through a similar situation I'll ask....
You said you're getting the bsod but I haven't seen you mention what the stop error is referring to.
My most recent encounter with this situation turned out to be a bad lan card driver. Setup would fail sometimes at different places depending on how fast or slow I responded to the prompts before I got to the time change setup. In all cases however it was due to a bad driver.
I rectified the situation by installing the MS Loopback Adapter instead of letting setup automatically find the adapter in the machine for me. I continued on with setup without fail after that.
Now I'm not saying your problem is a direct connection to mine, as in a bad lan driver, but it could possibly (depending on the stop error) be a bad video or other hardware driver.
Just about the time you get into the time change screen all of the hardware drivers for the network should be load(ing/ed) If you keep getting the bsod right around the same time, try simplifying your setup by eliminating as much extraneous tasks as possible such as lan card drivers, video drivers, etc. You can install all of this later after the initial setup has finished. Once you're able to login to the server locally you can go and get the correct and updated drivers for any hardware that you didn't setup initially.
Hope that helps. NT Server seems to be finicky that way.
