when connecting to ip office vis vpn the phone screen goes blank

have a vpn set up with a linksys router and a sonicwall. i can ping the file sever and call server from my desk top at home. when the phone the phone logs in and ask for an extension and password. It seems to be communicating to the file server ( if u put in a incorrect password it tells you). it then it say's that the ext is in use would u like to reregister. when i press pound the screen goes blank. also if i do a mute "view" the view settigs screen goes blank after 3-4 seconds. any idea's

linksys to sonicwall vpn, interesting...

We use Sonicwall's exclusively and have seen some issues with one way voice and phone registration. These have almost always been solved by upgrading the firmware on the Sonicwall to the latest available release.

What do you see in monitor after when you re-register?
 
thanks for your response. It seems that it works the first time you plug in at home (when the vpn is set up and you can ping the call server) but after you log off the phone it does not connect again(it gives you the "extension in use" message) you reregister and the screen goes blank. I set up vpn and my partnesrs house and the same problem. works the first time and then will come up with a blank screen after you log of and try to reregister? any ideas?

We are experiencing the same problem with one of our customers.

Remote worker: 4620, PC, SG5x Gateway
Office: IPO SOE 2.1, SG5x Gateway

The remote worker says the screen is blank and it started about a month ago.

No new firmware for phone or SOE. I upgraded the SG to 4.7.18 today (for a different issue). No effect.

Anyone have an idea what is causing this?
