What's the real difference between SQL Server and the desktop version? I wanted to load it on an XP machine. Does the desktop version have everything that the "real" version has.

The desktop version came on another CD with SQL Server.

The full version can't be installed on a desktop OS, the dev
elopper or desktop edition has all the feature's of SQL and can be installed on a desktop OS.

Keep in mind that a desktop OS has a maximum of 10 client connections.

So the full version needs Windows 2(something) SERVER?

And it won't work on Win XP Pro, huh?

Check with Microsoft.
