Is running a SQL data base server and running scripts a storing it that way the best way to keep historical data for months at a time? Thanks.

You could or you could just set your historical stats to keep the data for whatever time span you want. As long as you have enough hard drive space you can set it to whatever duration you want.

The call-by-call report chews up alot of space since it tracks every single call action though.

Thanks. I thought there was a limit on what you could set the historical data. Space is not an issue right now but it only seems to keep a month of data at a time. I don't think it will let me adjust the buffer out anymore but I will check.

You're both right, I would say that extracting the raw data by sql and storing it separately is the best way. You can, as Rustedirish says, increase the time the server keeps the raw data, but this is limited more by the database size than disk space. The server will automatically overwrite the data when the time limit is reached, so it is not foolproof.
