Does anyone have a favorite?

Looking to do remote desktop support, file transfer. Also looking for security.

Any comments on:

PCanywhere (will older versions 8 or 9 run on W2K)

ControlIT (formally Remotely Possible)

LapLink

Others?

Thanks for any help!

NetMeeting works for me ------------
Certified in absolutely nothing :)

I currently use GoToMyPC for remote NT4 server management. Check out for a free 30-day trial. Easier to configure than PCAnywhere, passes thru firewalls, full 128-bit encryption. All you need is access to the Internet. Tim Benton
CNE(4&5),MCP
Studying for CNE6 and MCSA

VNC - it's free and works with Linux as well as Windoze
Remote Administrator - Fasted remote desktop I have seen for Windoze

ControlIT has every option you asked for but I think it's a tad expensive. I'd recommend that for commercial use.

I've tried Pcanywhere versions 3 throught 11, Laplink Gold, and Gotomypc.
I've had problems with them all. I am now using Timbuktu Pro and for the past 2 months have had no problems.

You can try it with free download for thirty days and see for yourself whether it does the job you need. Good Luck.
