Hi folks,

what exactly is the "SAP Gateway" and what does it do ?
Where can I find information on how and where it is configured in our systems ?
Where is it located ?
Any Transactions I might try out to look at its configuration ?

Thanks in advance !

Regards,
Thomas

Every R3 instance needs a Gateway service.
It performs a number of jobs:

1. Is used to communicate between different R3 systems.
2. Is used to connect external systems like fax devices etc.
3. RFC's and CPIC

Every time an instance is started, the gateway process is started automatically.

Not to sure about the configuration though.

Hope this helps,

Dman.
